Logitech K400 Plus did not come with a USB dongle? Wait!! It’s hidden in the box!!

If you’re like me you just bought the Logitech K400 Plus or K360 for your smart TV and you’ve gone through everything and there is no USB dongle. You’re just about to return it to the store.  You checked inside the battery compartment, and the dongle is not in there in that slot where it is meant to be stored.  Well I’ve got good news for you. They have hidden it in the box where you would not expect!!

Open the box, on the lip of the box facing you there is a white tag of paper.  Lift it up and look under it, your dongle will likely be right there!  Photos below for reference.

Open the box…

Nothing in battery compartment or in the storage slot for the USB dongle, I would have expected it to be in that slot in the battery compartment cover…

Finally I found the dongle, uncurl the white paper as shown below!

Logitech, next time try not to overthink things, please put the dongle somewhere obvious… like, tape it to the bottom of the keyboard in a small pouch or something.

  1. Thanks. I had the same issue. I couldn’t find the USB Receiver either. I wrote Logitech also. Once I saw your post, I looked and found it. Thanks.

  2. hahahaha
OMG thank you. I was already googling how to use it without a dongle. lol
I’m lucky that Google knew better and brought me here. :)

  3. Thanks for this – and wow, someone else also had this same problem just today!
Agreed – Logitech overthought this – they could simply have put the receiver in the small keyboard cavity next to the battery cavity.

  4. Thank goodness for your post. I was about to e-mail customer support about not receiving a dongle.

  5. Wow I was literally just about to go to Best Buy to return this because I thought it was missing the receiver.
    Thanks!!!!

  6. I wonder will it work with a 2018 Sony OLED KD-55AF8 TV? My Microsoft wired USB keyboard will not work, neither will a Logitech wireless USB keyboard and its mouse. The SONY installation guide which was terse and cryptic to the point of uselessness, said that such keyboards “may or may not work” with this set! I paid top dollar+ for this set and I am appalled by this. These keyboards have been around for years and Sony should get its act together. The K400 keyboard does not even have a mouse, you have to fiddle around with a tiny pad. I have been using Panasonic sets where things actually work and the documentation is actually useful . Nuts to Sony.

    1. I would imagine that it will work with the KD-55AF8. The reason I say that is that I have a Sony XBR X800D and it is running Android, and your TV also runs Android. I think it is more of an Android comparability thing. So I’d say there is a very good chance it will work for your TV. Also, the Logitech M325 mouse works with the XBR X800D as well and I imagine it would work on your set too. So if you get the K400+ keyboard (by the way the touchpad on it works well) and the M325 mouse, I think your TV has more than one USB port, you’ll be set.

  7. I was going to buy a replacement dongle. Logitech are idiots for not putting it in the battery compartment where it supposed to be stored. Thank you for your post. You are a life saver!

  8. Haha, same here, almost returned it!
Thanks a lot for posting this!
    What an insane packaging idea!

  9. my wife through the box to the keyboard away. Now I have a replacement dongle but I can’t figure out how to pair the keyboard with the replacement dongle (on Nvidia Shield).

    1. different dongles, different frequencies. The keyboard would have matched USB dongle. Good news you can get it here: Original Logitech Unifying receiver for mouse + USB Cable for Touchpad T650 and other models LZ240BS-DJ M/N:C-U0008 from Amazon.
